Information regarding Furloughs:
Due to the current State of California budget deficit and its impact on the California State University budget, the majority of its employees have to take two furlough days per month. A furlough day is a non-paid mandated day off. There will be campus-wide mandated furlough days. These fall on Tuesday Sept. 8, Friday Oct. 2, and Wednesday Nov. 25. What this means is that on these days, the majority of staff members and services (examples: Library, Student Affairs, etc) will not be available. However, it is very important to note that there will be some classes that will still be held these days. If you have a class on any of these days and the faculty is not taking a furlough day, you must attend your regularly scheduled class. Your instructor might take a furlough day on another day, in which case you are not to attend that particular class. Every instructor/faculty will let you know about the details of each class and when furloughs will affect your class. If you do not understand, please feel free to ask either your instructor or myself.
In addition to these already set campus-wide furlough days, I will be taking one additional furlough day in September, October and in November.
