How to Create a PIN

What is a PIN?

For security reasons, the SDSU Library requires you to have a PIN (personal identification number), in addition to your SDSU identification number, to access and use a variety of electronic library services.

How do I create a PIN?

You create your own PIN by using the "Your Circ Record" option available from the main menu of either version of the Library Catalog (the PAC). You will be asked to enter your name, SDSU ID number, and PIN (Personal Identification Number). (If you do not already have a PIN then leave the PIN field blank and click on the Display record for person named above. Your name and SDSU ID number will appear and there will be two blanks for a PIN. Select a PIN and enter it in each field.)

How many characters can I use?

A PIN can contain up to 30 alpha or numeric characters. Try to develop a PIN you will remember.

What if I forget my PIN?

Go to the Library's Circulation Desk and they will delete your old PIN. Then use the Your Circ Record function in the Library Catalog (the PAC)
